Steven Vogl Obituary
Died: Oct. 21, 2008; in McHenry
HUNTLEY - Steven M. Vogl, 75, of Sun City Huntley, formerly of Medina, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Alden Terrace of McHenry.
He was born on Jan. 4, 1933, in Penzeskut, Hungary, the son of Ludwig and Maria (Rauscher) Vogl. On June 9, 1956, he married Maria Aicher in Chicago.
He was a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict. Steven made his career in manufacturing most recently at Lunt Manufacturing in Schaumburg for 10 years. In 2001, he and Maria moved to Sun City where he was an avid golfer. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntley. He was a true people person who loved to help and lend a hand to anyone who needed and he had a knack for fixing things.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Maria; his daughter, Lisa Ann Vogl; two sisters, Maria Manner and Ann Brendel; and a brother, Ludwig Vogl.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tibor Vogl.
The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley and will continue Friday, Oct. 24, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Huntley/Dundee Road, Huntley from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated with the Rev. David Reese officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Huntley.
