A good friend and especially kind to my son Hal on so many occasions. I will always remember our hunting trip to South Texas with the boys. The art taught of preparing a deer in the field by a surgeon was amazing. What a great hunt to help feed the homeless.

I will fondly remember our church times, Bible studies, and meals at FBC. God bless the family during this time.

What an amazing life you lived. Honored to be your friend. Fly high sir!!!

My prayers have been lifted up for Steve's family. He was my late mother-in-law's surgeon years ago. I remember his kind compassionate care.

Sandy and I want to offer our prayers and condolences for our longtime friend and fellow Patriot Steve! I served with Steve in the Air Force at the USAF Hospital, Ramey AFB, Puerto Rico in the early 1970s. We became great friends and played on the Hospital flag football team together. He was my center and he always called me his quarterback. We had a great time together and my wife Sandy and I enjoyed pilot Steve flying us to the other Caribbean islands in one of the Base Aero Club planes. Ramey AFB closed in 1973 and we lost contact with Steve for many years. About a year ago I saw him on FOX News as as a medical expert on COVID19. I found out he was in Colleyville and called his office number to leave a message. Fortunately, he walked by and heard my message and picked up the phone and we must have talked and reminisced for almost an hour about our time in Puerto Rico together and what we had been doing over the succeeding decades. We agreed to get together and golf if we got up to the Metroplex or if he got to San Antonio, where we retired. I regret that with his passing we have missed that opportunity! He was a great surgeon and a wonderful human being! I salute my friend and may he Rest In Peace! God Bless and prayers for his family!

My sincere condolences to the family and friends. I have know Steve since July 25th, 1974. He was a friend and professional to me from that day on. A true dedicated professional in anything he went for. A wonderful human being. Prayers for family and friends. God Bless.

Steve hired me for my first government job at Peace Corps headquarters, Washington DC. I learned so much from him. I traveled the world with him as I facilitated Peace Corps medical conferences. He was a man of many talents and loved learning. To this day, I follow his advice to not do anything that I would fear reading about on the front page of the newspaper. Rest In Peace.
