Steven WILSON Obituary
It is with great sadness that we are announcing the sudden passing of Steven Wilson on September 8, 2017 at the age of 41 years. Steven was born at Surrey Memorial Hospital and grew up in Cloverdale. As a young boy he watched movies, read comic books and tinkered with the early computers. He graduated from Lord Tweedsmuir High School and went on to BCIT to train as an Electronic Engineer. He started his career at BC ferries working out of the Little River office. He then went on to work for BCLC, mainly based at the Chances Gaming Centre in Courtenay. He was an accomplished marksman shooting with guns and bows. He enjoyed fishing, whether it be fly fishing or out on the salt water in a boat. Steve also enjoyed camping, reading, wrestling with the kids and Parker-dog, of course, and would never shy away from a good water fight. Steve was very dedicated to his family. He leaves behind his life partner and best friend Michelle, three children (Taylor, Alexis and Zachary), his mother Roberta and brother Derrick. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends whose lives he has touched. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Native Sons Hall (360 Cliffe Ave, Courtenay). Memorial donations may be made to the BC SPCA Comox Valley & District Branch (1668 Ryan Rd E, Comox, BC V9M 7Z8).

I am so heartbroken to hear this news about Steven. He was such a great kid and grew up to be a greater man. Brandon loved coming to Vancouver and getting to see his cousin. I am so so sorry for all of his friends and family. This is such sad news and Steven was way too young.

I will miss Steve's wit and wisdom, and will remember the fun times as I'm sure will everyone who had the benefit of his presence in his short time here with us. Soup lunches will never be the same.. Rest in peace, good sir... And my condolences to Michelle, and his family. I know he will be missed, and he was taken way too soon!

Steve was a lovely man and I shall miss him. Our paths crossed through work and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know him and to work with such a smart ,capable , fun young man. My condolences .

I am so sorry to hear this very sad news and my heartfelt condolences to his family. Steve was a good friend to me as he was to so many of the lives he touched. I have fond memories of dinner parties, bottling wine, sharing lunches at work and a particularly fun Halloween party where Steve made us all laugh to tears with his costume. He will be dearly missed. RIP gentle soul.
