Stewart was a gifted footballer and had recently been signed by the Reading Youth Academy.
Head of year nine Noelle McCaffery said: “Stewart was a cheerful, warm-hearted and helpful pupil with a great sense of humour.
“His ever-present smile brightened the day of all those who encountered him.
“He was very popular with the staff and his peers alike at Maiden Erlegh School and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.”
A tribute video to Stewart called Lest We Forget has been posted on YouTube by fellow Maiden Erlegh pupil Benny to the song Where-d You Go? by Fort Minor.

Stewart I put some flowers at the big oak tree at the training ground yesterday and a few twigs fell in front of me, I know it was you having a giggle. Thought you would like to know that when GW has a bad day he goes and stands by your tree and realises that actually things are not that bad. He also said to some of the boys during training that they should be grateful of where they are and should think of you and realise how lucky they are. I think of you always and your mum and the rest of your family. We all miss you xxxxx

Its soo strange that i herd about this, but didnt really pay much concideration, just though its sad, but nothing more really, and now paddy higgins passed away also justa sa school kid and it really shows the impact it has on people! i hope all of your familly and firends have managed to become stronger people, and if your up there mate, find paddy and make mates with him :) only met him a few times but he is an actual hero, and every day i hear better and better things about him from soo many people! hope your liking heaven matye :) xxx

It still seems so unreal that you've gone. You managed to reach so many people with that amazing smile in only the short time we managed to share with you and that requires true talent; a thing that you had bundles of!
As everyone keeps saying, not a day go's by that you are not sorely missed and remembered. However we take heart from the way that you lived your life as a dedicated, fun loving comedian that could brighten the most miserable of days by stepping into a room. You will never be forgotten and your legacy of being a true gent will live on forever with all that were lucky enough to know you.
To Stewart's family, I have been amazed by the show of your bravery and commitment to honor your son and brother. You really are inspirational and words cannot begin to describe how many lives you have touched through acting, as you always do, in a way that Stewart, up there with the angels, would be so proud to see. You have raised a beautiful, caring young gentleman that has inspired so many others.
I hope these tributes show just how many lives Stewart has deeply touched and how many positive things he manages to fit into his amazing life.

You Alrite Stewart! Missing you so much. In life you dont always find such a strong bond with someone, and i was lucky enough to have found it with you. We have known eachother since we were 4 and from that point we were inseperable. Me, You and Peasy have been best friends all the way through from primary school to secondary school. Stewart, you're on my mind all the time. When i wake up, you're the first person i think of, when i go to sleep, you're the first and last person i think of- in my mind and heart. I still pray and talk to you every night (and i plan to for a very long time in the future), even though you're probably getting bored of hearing my voice and listening to me blabbering onto you with my long conversations! but i just want you to know how much i miss you and how empty i feel. I answered your questions about all the teachers, yes when you made us all laugh, even Mr Gillet (only an achievement that you Stewart could achieve). Stewart, I never knew you, but I may have seen you without knowing it up at the Mad Stad and it feels sad to know that now I will never see you play in goal for the team we both support.

What a utter heartbreak, thinking of all of Stewarts family and friends at this very sad time. Did not personally know Stewart but have also lost someone very dear to myself almost three years ago he to was a loyal royal. Time helps to heal the heartbreak but no one can ever take away the memories. Heaven must be full of Angels in Royals Shirts. God Bless be strong he will always be in your hearts.

stewart you were one of my best friends, always cheering everyone up saying the little things that made everyone laugh. i miss your deep voice overpowering everyone elses, we always knew when you were around ;) things are so quiet without you here and no one really wants to believe that your not coming back... i miss you so much but we have some pretty amazing memories together like fireworks, braydons party, iceskating and just around school. i'm going to treasure them forever. i'll see you again and then we can share as many laughs as we want :D

Stewart was a special son, grandson and nephew. He had so many gifts and talents including being able to spread love and joy wherever he went. Stewart lived life to the full and will be forever with us. He was and always will be our shining star.

Your sense of humour brought a smile to our faces and laughter to the changing room. You were my partner in crime and I wish that we had had longer to work together.
