By some accident I came across Stig - Eric's obituary. I cannot believe what I read since we were never informed of this. I called my dad right away to let him know. My heart is filled with such sadness remembering how much I had heard about him as a child and then adult and how much he was loved and reading more about him. I had a few classes with Stig at Rosemere High...and although we were never friends, 35 years later, he agreed to meet with me to discuss job opportunities at Autodesk. The desire to help those who call upon him makes him an honourable gentlemen. I am glad to have known such a kind classmate.

Stig and I had a professional relationship that became friendship. Stig was an amazing man, his legacy will always remain through his wonderful children.

To his wife Genna, his sons Sten-Erik and Niklas and parents Peggy and Victor, I offer my condolence.

Stig will always be alive in our minds...

Rest in peace Stig. We are sadden and heart broken by your lost but deep inside, we comfort in knowing that one day, we'll see you again.

Terribly saddened to hear of your tragic loss. I had the good fortune to know Stig for almost 30 years, starting when I tried to hire him to join Deloitte's upon his graduation from McGill. Although he chose a competitor (E&Y), we kept in touch because of that recruiting encounter. That was just one of Stig's many attributes-if you met him once, you wanted to see him again.

Over the years we had the opportunity to work together for a few years, play a lot of squash, socialize and swap business and life stories-often over a beer. Determined, confident,fun-loving, warm, gentle and kind-hearted-all served up with an infectious laugh.

May you have God's strength to get through this unfair end for one of the great people to have passed this way.

I went to elementary & high school with Stig - alphabetically before him :-) I also bumped into him over the years. Everything I've read today is consistent with the youth & young man I knew - a truly outstanding person. Heartfelt condolences to his family.

For the past seven years I've met Stig twice a year at various conferences. He always made a point of asking me about family, he even remembered my daughters' names. We compared notes on our kids and had a laugh over being the fathers of teenagers. His love for, and pride in, his family just shone through those conversations. Last year I visited the Montreal offices and got to see Stig in action in his environment. He was clearly well-loved by all.

I think the whole computer graphics community is heartbroken.

Stig was one of the most inspiring people I have ever met in my career. A great leader who always had an open door for people no matter how busy he was. He treated everyone with dignity and respect - and he was always interested in the person he was talking to.
