FOSTER, Gordon "Stuart"
December 23, 1929 - March 25, 2014
It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Gordon "Stuart" Foster, announce his passing on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in Mesa, Arizona, his home away from home for the past 18 years. Stu was born on December 23, 1929 and was a true Calgarian, growing up in Rosedale, graduating from Crescent Heights High School, and eventually settling here and raising his own family alongside his wife Eve, whom he married in 1953. He graduated from the University of Alberta, with a degree in Dentistry in 1954. Stu had a successful dental practice in downtown Calgary for over 40 years, and was a past president of both the Alberta and Canadian Dental Associations. Upon his retirement in 1996, he and Eve spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona, where he pursued his passion for golf. When Eve passed away in 2011, Stu continued to travel south for the winters, and enjoyed his last days in the warmth of his winter home. Stu will be dearly missed by his sons Brent (Kathy) and Keith (Vicki), and his daughter Merrill, as well as his six cherished grandchildren, Scott, Daniel, Casey, Jordan, Connor and Reagan, and special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his much loved son Allan and his sister Lorna Davis. A memorial celebration of life will be held at a later date, in Calgary, AB.
