Mr Benjamin William Stuart Nuttall passed away at Broomcroft House Nursing Home on January 25, aged 82 after bravely suffering a very long illness.Born in Youlgrave he attended Lady Manners Grammar School. After service in the RAF he attended Leicester Technical College and Chesterfield College of Technology, he qualified as Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institute of British Foundrymen, Fellow of the Institute of Quarrying, Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, Member of the Livery of the Worshipful Company of Founders, Freeman of the City of London and was honoured by the Queen with an MBE for service to industry in June 1990.Mr Nuttall began his career at The Chesterfield Tube Co Ltd as a draughtsman and became the youngest departmental manager, he went on to work in Stalybridge and Burtonwood where he was Director and General Manager, British Steel at Corby and then joined The Clay Cross Company where he eventually became Group MD and latterly Chairman of Biwater Industries until retirement in 1994.He leaves his wife Eileen, daughters Jacqueline and Caroline, he was a loving and devoted gramps to grandchildren Francesca, William, Charles and Emma, great-grandchildren Freddie and Olivia.A thanksgiving service is due to take place on Tuesday February 17 at 12 noon at Ashover Church. This follows a private service at Chesterfield Crematorium. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Stuart will be shared between Ashover Parish Church and Parkinsons UK.Funeral director: B.
