I was blessed to have had the privilege of getting to know Dr Phillips. I was a patient of his after a horrific car wreck where I was crushed by an 18 wheeler. He patched me up and after multiple surgeries I eventually was able to return to work. He was a good man and a kind soul. Love

My condolences to Dr. Phillips' family. I was a patient of his in the small office (house) he had in NOLA in the early 70's. He did surgery on my tumor in my ankle and I saw him yearly up until I was 18. Great doctor. My parents spoke highly of him.

My daughter (Shelantha Ross) was born with a major birth defect in her lower extremities. Through prayers and the hands of Dr. Stuart Phillips, her legs look perfectly developed today; as if there was never a problem with them. Almighty God, and the memory of Dr. Stuart Phillips will always be special to us. RIP Doc.

My daughter was born with a birth defect. Her legs were bent upwards, because her knees were positioned behind her legs. We brought her to Dr. Phillips and within approximately 18 months, Dr Phillips through his magnificent method of correcting bones, made the incredible corrections and her legs became 100% normal and were bending properly. Medical has lost and absolute genius of a doctors . I just learned of his passing. I wanted my daughter to meet him. she is now a grown woman with beautiful legs: thanks to Dr Stuart Phillips.

Oh, man. Deepest condolences to Ida, Deborah and Sebastian, and to all family and friends on the "loss" of Stuart. Stuart was an important mentor to me, from around 1970 til long into adulthood. He and Joan, Eric and Stephen, all adopted me as part of their family, and Stu remained a staunch friend even through the deaths of Joan and Eric and eventually Stephen, new family with Ida, birth of Sebastian. Deepest thanks to Ida, Deborah and Sebastian for bringing so much joy into Stu's life. I'll carry Stuart's spirit inside of me til the end of my days, as I'm sure will the entire multitude of friends who were fortunate enough to be touched by Stu. Forever grateful for the generosity of his spirit. As far as I'm concerned, as long as we keep him in our hearts, he will always be present in our lives.

Ida- much love to you in the loss of Stuart. My mom, Dorothy Faucheaux, worked for him for many years at New Orleans Orthopaedic. I know she is giving him a big hug in the great upstairs. Always had a smile for me and always asked how I was...So sad to hear of his passing. He did many wonderful things for the world in his time here.

I grew up with Stuart. His father was my dentist. Stuart and I were high-school classmates. Stuart was always his own man from Day One. He marched to his own drummer, and with conviction and confidence, championing unpopular causes yet making them succeed by his unswerving dedication. I admired Stuart's brains so much I always called him, in my own mind, "Smart Phillips." I can't believe he's gone.
