Dr. Stylianos Hadjiyannis

I was a student that traveled abroad and took courses with Stylio. I was very intimidated by him, though I tried not to show it, because I was impressed by his mind and ideologies. When I traveled to Greece it changed how I viewed everything. When I was numb over the passing of my own child then, he was the first to start showing me it was okay to feel pain for that loss. He was my mentor, teacher and I considered him a friend as well because on occasion he listened as I sobbed. So, I'd like to say first, I'm so sorry I wasn't aware of his passing when it occurred and second... Thank you Hadj for opening my eyes to the world and being a shoulder when I needed it in my youth. If their is a place like heaven you are surely there.

Stelio will be greatly both here in Portsmouth and abroad. He was a great teacher, fantastic colleague, and a loving father to his two children, who I know are in the thoughts and prayers of many. He could have been on the Dos Equis commercials as the world's most interesting man.

Professor Hadjiyannis was a GREAT SOUL. In our memories, he lives forever.

Dr. Hadjiyannis was a good man, I was too young to have taken any of his classes myself before I moved to Columbus, but my Mom took a few of his classes while she was in college. RIP

He influenced my entire perspective on the world. Taught me to ask why instead of taking events at face value. My mother and I both adored him from the minute we met him.

I will always be grateful for the encouragement and guidance he provided. Gone much too soon.

So sorry to lose such a great Professor. I learned a great deal from him. He will be greatly missed by me and, I'm sure, many of my fellow students. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
