Suzy,
When I heard that Alderman Sue Higgins had died, my thoughts immediately went to you and Eve as you mourn the loss of your mom and grandmother. At Kym's place, you and I chatted at various times over the last couple of years about your mom, her illness, and your family and I want to extend my deepest sympathy to you. Though I never met your mom, I've come to have a better sense of her and her life not only through you, but also through the public reactions to her death. The dog park being named in her honour especially touches me. I hope these wonderful memories and your own offer you comfort as you grieve. —My sincere condolences.

To the Higgins and Corns Family
Please accept sincere sympathy is the loss of your dear mother, grandmother, sister in law and Aunt.
I honor her great service to the community but most of all, her love and caring for her family.

A butterfly flies beside us
like a sunbeam,
For a moment it's beauty belongs to our world,
Then it flies on, and though
We wish it could have stayed,
We feel so lucky to have seen it.

Sue-you were one of a kind. You always made time for me when I called you for a comment and you always knew your stuff. I was confident the city was in good hands when someone of your caliber was siting on council. You made covering city hall interesting and fun. It was an honour working with you. Your did one heck of a job and now it's time to rest. To the family my prayers and deepest sympathy. Sincerely-Bill McFarlane (former CFCN News Reporter)

We will miss you Sue. You were very nice to us when my wife and I walked our beagles past your house; always engaging us. We'd ask about your flowers, you'd ask about our dogs. We'll see you again someday.

To Suzy, Lyn and Maureen:
Your mother was a link between all of us, a link that I hope will endure. Sue's spunk and candour were qualities that I admired, but what I will remember most is how she welcomed me and Dave into your family. I send my love and best wishes to all of you.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom! I spent so much time at your house, in the kitchen, never the living room! Your mom was a wonderfully strong woman and she will be missed. Her legacy will live on.

Sue Higgin's greatest gift to me, a complete stranger, was the knowledge that one voice, one solitary person, can make a difference. She cared, passionately, about the growing city and gave so much of herself to its development. She lent colour and character to the proceedings at City Hall.
