Sue Wheeler Pollard, 65 of Raleigh was born on January 24th 1954.

Sue was a true Raleigh native, graduating from Millbrook High School in 1972, Peace College in 1974, and NC State University in 1976. Sue had a 31 year career as a school teacher in the Wake County Public School System. She taught at West Cary Middle School, Athens Drive High School, Enloe High School and ended her career working at the Central Office. While school teaching was her profession during the week, she loved teaching children Sunday school at her church. She was a devoted Christian and follower of our Lord Jesus Christ, wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren called her "Na-maw".

Sue is preceded in death by her father, Caswell Ellis Wheeler, her mother Margaret Westbrook Wheeler; her son in law, Allen Patrick Flood.

Sue is survived by her husband of 38 years, Gregg Pollard; her daughter and son, Jennifer Flood and Brant Pollard; her daughter in law, Cameron Pollard; her grandchildren, Cole Flood, Mason Flood, Campbell Pollard and Merritt Pollard; her siblings Marguriete Nelson, Patricia (Pat) Danieley, Catherine (Cathy) Carter, and Ellis Wheeler.

The family would like to thank everyone who helped take care of Sue during her time of illness. Her caregiver and friend Angela Mangum; her sisters Marguriete, Pat, and Cathy; and her friends Connie Hockaday and Maretta Cerone.

A visitation will take place from 1:30-3:00pm on Sunday, March 10 at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, immediately followed by a funeral service at 3:00pm with Reverend J. Michael Carter officiating. A private Interment will follow with the family at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 5608 Ten-Ten Road, Apex, NC 27539, designated to "Children's Ministries".
