Sue was my harp teacher during a difficult time in my life. She brought me so much joy. She was a great teacher and mentor. I have only the fondest memories of her pushing me at the harp to be the best I could be. May she rest in peace. My deepest condolences to her family.

Dear Gena and John,
My heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your mom! Her death must be leaving a huge void in your lives.
I first met Sue as "Gena´s Mom," shortly after starting my studies at the St. Louis Conservatory. She was always friendly, supportive, welcoming - even inviting me and a visiting fellow from England to dinner my first 4th of July in town, so that we would know what a traditional American Independence Day meal was like!
Later, it always brightened my day when an opportunity for a conversation with her presented itself, at an SLSO or OTSL performance, or backstage at Powell, when she played with the orchestra. She was interesting and interested, knowledgeable and, above all, always positive. We had many long and enjoyable phone conversations also, talking about everything from Mahler and Allegra´s harp recital to homegrown tomatoes and ways to fix fried green tomatoes. I could always hear the smile in her voice, but especially when she talked about her grandsons.
I´ll miss her dearly. She was so easy to spot at a concert, and knowing that I won´t be running into her anymore really saddens me. May she rest in peace.

Dear Gina and John,
I am so sorry for your loss and for the loss to the music community in St. Louis. My first experience with Mrs. Taylor was playing in various groups and orchestras. She was so nice to me and we enjoyed our conversations. We discovered that we had so much in common. For instance we were both from Arkansas and I remember seeing her play in the Arkansas Symphony when I was growing up in Little Rock. I introduced Mrs. Taylor to my parents and we discovered they had mutual friends from Smackover, Arkansas of all places. As the English Horn player for the St. Louis Philharmonic we were next to each other and I just loved hearing her play and she was always so complimentary to me. We exchanged our love of Mahler too. She will be greatly missed by so many people and I know her family will too. Rest in peace, Sue Taylor.
