Surinder Singh Sidhu

I met him when he first came to Ithaca in the 60s. I had just come back from India and could speak Hindi. I liked eating lunch with him at the Straight (student union). He had a great imagination and told some great stories. I remember how he kept a group of us laughing one evening, sitting out on somebody's roof, as he was telling us hilarious tales in Hindi. Later I lost touch with him, but heard he'd married and stayed in Ithaca. May God rest his soul. He was a good man.

Sorry we never got to say goodbye. You were a wonderful presence in my life.

Dear Sidhu family,

I would like to send deepest sympathy to the family. I worked with "Sidhu" ( that is how we referred to him) at Goodhope Youth Home during the 80's where he was both back up childcare worker and back up cook.He was always a delight and we all loved it when he came in and of course, LOVED his meals!He will be in our hearts always, as he always was ..

How sad is my heart knowing that I will never again in this lifetime meet you, my dear, dear friend Sidhu. But you and the special connection we had from the day we first met will remain in my memory always. My deepest sympathy for your lovely wife, Debbie, your children, family and friends. A star has gone out in the heaven above and you are sorely missed by all.
