Surl Lee Nielsen

I know this is after the fact of Surl's passing but just thought I would comment. Surl and I had our lockers next to each other in JR. High and we sat next to each other on our school trip to SD Zoo. He was a really nice person and I was sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed by all his Whittier High School Classmates and we celebrate our 65th Reunion in August, 2019. RIP

Dear friends: we will be having a memorial service for my father Surl on Saturday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at East Lawn Memorial Park (Folsom Blvd). We hope you can join us.

Surl and I became friends when I moved to Whittier at age 16. We kept up since and I have enjoyed being with Surl & Tricia on many adventures.
His brilliance and kindness lives on.

Surl was as outstanding pathologist, gifted teacher, and a wonderful person with whom I was fortunate to work for a number of years.

Surl was a great teacher, colleague, and friend. As a resident at UC, a faculty member with him, and afterwards always enjoyed his warmth and knowledge. Often would see Pat and Surl at CAL football games. They came an visited us here in Grass Valley. Both will be missed. Our sincere condolences.

It saddens me to learn the Surl Nielsen is gone. When my photo store had to close we lost touch, but it always brightened my day to see him. He was unfailingly kind. I have missed him and now I will miss him even more.
