I was extremely shocked and saddened to learn of her passing. She was my boss when I worked at Crestar Bank long ago, and have fond memories of her and Mrs. Kilcoyne,her mom. I was checking to see if I could find her on LinkedIn to add her, not learn of her untimely passing. I am very, very sorry to hear this. My deepest condolences. May you find peace and solace in the good memories of her life and knowing, she was a very loved and wonderful person to many. Rest in peace dear Susan.

Sue was such an intelligent, elegant and calm presence among our group of dramatic, sometimes rabble-rousing college freshman friends. She was wise beyond her years and provided us with much needed sensibilities and true friendship. She taught me how to file my fingernails properly (: She was a rose and I am glad our paths crossed.

To the family of Susan. You don't know me, but I knew Susan very well when we were both in our twenties. Susan was my branch manager at United Va Bank/ Crestar, now Suntrust Bank. I am so sadden to open the Washington Post and see Susan beautiful face looking at me. I wanted to let you know if was not for Susan I may not have done as well as I did at the Bank. I ended up becoming a Assistant Vice President before I retired. Susan was very kind and understanding, but at the same time she knew I needed a strong hand at times to lead me in the right direction. I will remember with warm thought's. I feel very blessed to have known her in the short she had on this earth, but I know one Day we meet again in Heaven. I'm sure she had her strong Catholic faith when passed as she did when knew her. Susan was always reaching out to help everytime I needed her. We bonded through Corpus Christi and Girl Scouts. My daughter Genevieve carpooled with Jay and Mara sometimes and played soft ball with Mara. The first thing that pops into my mind about Susan is her walking the dog in our neighborhood. Several times our paths crossed on our morning walks and she always found the time to stop and chat. She was a quiet presence at our book club meetings but when she spoke it was always insightful. She had a strong faith but showed it in quiet ways. My thoughts and prayers go out to Joe, Jay and Mara. May God comfort you.
