Susan Aune Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 11 to Feb. 15, 2023.
Susan Renae Aune, 70, of Lake City passed away on January 24, 2023. She was born on October 24,1952 to Myron and Delores Mastrud in Mayville, N.D. After graduating from Hatton High School, she married Stephen Aune on May 29,1970. They were blessed with 2 children. After relocating to Lake City in 1979, Sue enjoyed being a homemaker and had quite the green thumb. Would always find her starting new plants for friends and neighbors. Crocheting, quilting, embroidery and many other crafts were her favorite hobbies. All of us that knew and loved her have something made by Susie. Another passion of hers was cooking. She retired from Winn Dixie after 15 years as a baker. She enjoyed outings with friends shopping, but mostly well earned summer vacations on the warm, sandy beaches. Survivors include her loving husband Steve; children Shannon (Brad) Moretz, Steve Aune and 7 wonderful grandchildren Trey, Tyler, Braden, Sydney, Carter, Cooper, and Olivia, her mother Delores, 2 brothers Gary Mastrud, Tim (Cindy) Mastrud, 3 sisters Judy (Tim) Richardson, Tami Ostlie, Patty (Scott) Marks. Sister-in-law Cathy Mastrud and brother-in-laws Jim Frandson and David Flaten, many nieces and nephews as well as greats. Preceding her in death was her father Myron; brother, Butch; sisters, Dorothy Flaten and Debbie Frandson; brother-in-laws, Mike Holkesvig and Kip Ostlie; best friend and cousin Susan Mattern.
