Susan Barrett is a kick-@@@ spirit! I met Susan at TJHSST - I was hoping to be in-laws, but Connor had other plans. From hanging out in Michigan to Candice's wedding events, I always enjoyed Susan - I'll see her again and we will gab about our kids and grandkids! <3 Candice's Mom

Such sad news. I worked with Susan at Laurel Ridge Elementary School. A warm smile and magnetic personality describes her perfectly. I remember how much she loved her family. She will be missed by all that knew her.

I am so sorry to hear of Susan´s passing and extend my deepest sympathies to Janice, Mara, her husband, sons and family. Most of my memories of Susan are in Madison when she was in junior high and high school. Susan was quiet but she had an enigmatic smile and vibrant personality. Since I moved to Florida in 77 I lost touch but enjoyed catching up with her on Facebook and seeing photos of her family and her vacation highlights. God bless you Susan and may he shower you with his love. Till we all meet again.
Love,

I knew Susan when she worked as a teacher in Fairfax County. To know Susan was to love her. She was always such a positive and friendly person lighting up every room with her bright smile. I remember laughing with her any time we were together. Susan was incredibly proud of her family and she would often tell me how much she was looking forward to spending time with her sons. I loved speaking with her and learning from her. She was such a great model of what being a wonderful human being looked like. Sending all my love to her family at this difficult time.

Susan and I shared a classroom together when I was at Lincoln School in Elmhurst, Illinois. She was everything that you described in her obituary and more. She was such a lovely, friendly, and out going person. We shared the classroom with 1 other teacher and all got along beautifully. She always made me smile and never had a bad day. She was always so positive and upbeat. One of the best human beings that I have ever met. She will be truly missed!

That is easily the most beautiful obituary I´ve ever read. I never met her, but I *know* her after reading that. And I even miss her: but please know that the power of her luminous life is changing people even now-and I am one.
