Virgil Dean Preston

BONHAM - Funeral services for Virgil Dean Preston, age 55, of Bonham, TX will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Cooper – Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Thornton will officiate, interment will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery. Mr. Preston passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Medical Center of Plano in Plano, TX.

Virgil Dean Preston was born in Bonham, TX on January 29, 1960 to Pascal Preston and Thelma (Lappin) Preston. Mr. Preston was a plant manager at Volunteer Purchasing Group for 31 years, He was a very giving man, and always tried to help his family in any way he could. Virgil was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Preston is survived by son, Kyle Preston and wife Lisa of Ector, TX; grandchildren, Jaelynne, Lane and Kenadie; siblings: sister, Doris Croy and husband Donnie of Blossom, TX; brother, Bobby Lappin and wife Teasa of Bonham, TX; brother, Doyle Preston and wife Laura of Pittsburg, TX; sister, Kathryn Fisher and husband Charles of Bonham, TX; brother, Jerry Preston of Bonham, TX; sister, Paula Preston of Austin, TX; and brother, Roland Preston and wife Tiffany of Sallisaw, OK; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Haskell Preston.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Croy, Bobby Dale Lappin, Mike Lappin, Bobby Dale Lappin, Jr., Doyle Preston, and Darrell Preston. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Preston, and Richard Norris.

Family visitation will be Friday, December 4, 2015 at Cooper – Sorrells Funeral Home Bonham, TX from 6 – 8 p.m.
