Sue and I have been friends since Katie and Megan were in kindergarten. We could talk about anything and everything. We shared our love for our kids and grandkids and our hard times as well. I still feel like I want to call her. My friend is missed.

I always think of 'calm and strong' to describe Sue...and her smile! With Eric and I living mostly either out of state or country for so long we'd see Mike, Sue, and family and then Sue and family about 1-2 times a year. Of course the times years ago when we all managed to travel to Arkansas in summer were memorable. But so have these more recent yrs following Sue's move to Crystal Lake. When we were last at Sues in September we had an unexpected hectic afternoon together (day before wedding), but full of laughs. I'll never forget Sue's calmness and sense of humor as she and Eric worked for almost 2 hrs getting sticky black tar (from Mikes tree) out of my white hair...first googling methods and then Sue finding all the products she could find in her house to get the job done! I especially remember this day as she wasn't feeling great physically--and not as good as in July when we saw her. She had been open about her medication regime and tests she had to keep up with and yet she was calm, positive, and living very much in the moment. She was always enjoying family time no matter what kind of gathering it was. Will miss you, Sue, very much...

It was my pleasure to meet Sue and her family through Green White soccer. I was coach and Sue was the ultimate "Soccer Mom," shuttling the Prospect Heights girls to practices and games for several years. Without Sue our team would have collapsed because they were all starters! She was an absolute delight to work with and her kids especially Laura are jewels. My belated, but sincere thanks. Forever young in my mind.

I worked with Sue in the early 1980's. Her positive attitude and her sense of fun and humor made working with her a pleasure. Our world has lost a light.

Sue was a person I looked up to and enjoyed being with for so many years in high school and beyond. We stayed in touch all of these years, and I am deeply grateful for the time we had together.

Remembering when Sue and the family came to our Indiana farm for a cookout and bonfire many years ago, also remembering family reunions , the few we had with Sue and Mike. Mom (Maxine Garber) always enjoyed being with Sue as they had a common bond as being in-laws of the Garber family. Sue was such a sweet gentle soul! Loved getting Christmas cards from her each year and seeing the bright smiling faces of her granddaughters - I know she loved being near them these last few years!!! Share memories....speak her name often....and seek God for peace and calm!!!

Sue and Mike went to DePauw with my husband and I. Mike was my husband´s fraternity brother and Sue was on the tennis team with me and my doubles partner. My husband passed away in 2019 and when I saw that Mike passed away I called Sue. We talked every few months checking in on each other. I knew about her cancer, but did not know it had gotten worse. I am so sorry for your family to have lost both of your parents in such a short amount of time. Patty Reff
