Susan Fenn Bunker died April 2, 2019 in Salt Lake City of natural causes. She was born October 28, 1943 in Salt Lake City to Milburn Reid Fenn and Ila June Reynolds Fenn. She attended Salt Lake City schools, graduating from South H.S. in 1962. She graduated from the University of Utah, with a B.S., M.Ed., and Ed.S. degrees in Education. While at the University of Utah, she was president of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and a member of Spurs and Army Sponsors. While in graduate school, on a fellowship at the U., she taught courses in Organization and Administration of Schools in Utah and School Law. She also taught a course in Exceptional Education one summer at Westminster College.

Susan was an educator with the SLC School district from 1966-1992. During that time, she worked in the Horizons and ELP programs. She served as a Curriculum Specialist for the ELP program. Her greatest love in education was training and coaching Future Problem Solving teams. She trained two teams that placed 4th and 5th at the International Future Problem Solving Bowl in Ann Arbor,Michigan. She served as Co-Director and Director of the Utah State Future Problem Solving Program from 1987-1992. She also coached many Debate Teams that took State Honors. Under her direction, two teams took First Place at the Olympics of the Mind Competition. She loved working with students in areas that challenged their minds and expanded their abilities. On February 2, 1972, she was chosen KSL's "Teacher of the Day."  Over the years, she received numerous awards and recognitions for her teaching abilities. Susan married her childhood sweetheart Garth Thomson Bunker, on December 2, 1967. That marriage was later solemnized in the Salt lake Temple on June 2, 1979. Her husband proceeded her in death on March 12, 2000. Susan served a mission for the LDS church from 2005-06. She was the Boston Mission President Secretary and cherished that experience as one of the highlights of her life. She loved to travel, meet new people and see new places. She managed to see the most of the places on her list. Susan loved her family and encouraged her children to do their best and follow their dreams.

She is survived by her three children; Thomas Hartford (Kristi) of Virginia Beach, VA. Jordan Benjamin, SLC and Martha Belle (Jeremy Schultz), Oswego, Illinois. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jourdan, Malakai, Austin, Quinton, Brielle, Brooklyn, Roman, and Tyndall.

The viewing will be held on Wednesday the 10th from 6-8pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and the Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 11th 2019 at 11am at the same location.
