I met Susan in May of 2000...I knew her when she lived in her studio apartment in the West End...we had both attended a support group...I told Susan about the primal scream where we could express and release our emotions...this is a therapy introduced by Yoko Ono in the 1960's if I recall correctly...Susan was beautiful like a model...I remember sitting in the sun while we ate a snack.. I noticed how white and perfectly shaped her teeth were...I took Susan to a movie at the Pacific Cinematheque where I volunteered and received a movie pass where I could take a guest...I took Susan...she also attended a belly dance class that I arranged in a dance studio on Granville Street...I ran a women's support group and Susan attended a couple of times ..I remember the last time I saw Susan...it was two years before her passing and she looked so radiant and beautiful...this is how I want to remember her...

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Carlisle family for such a loss. I can't say "I can't imagine what you're all going through" because, "I know what you're going through". To lose a loved one is the hardest thing that we will ever have to deal with in life.

"Q" was a nickname we pinned on Suzie once we got to know her - I really think she loved it. We never called her Susan - always "Q". She will always be "Q" to Wendy, Trish and I.

I met "Q" when she started working at the Department of Justice - I had the pleasure of training her. She was always fun and a lot of laughs. "Q" had a very mesmerizing smile, at times you'd find yourself scratching your head by some of the things that she said but, it was always good for a laugh. You had to love her.

I don't think "Q" ever really knew how beautiful she was. She would turn heads when we walked down the street but she never flaunted her outer beauty. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say, everyone who knew "Q" loved her for her silliness, her innocence and her inner beauty.

It's so sad, and I'm so, so sorry.

The Angels will take good care of our Suzie "Q".

She will be sorely missed.

I am so sad to learn about the loss of Susan and would like to send my condolences out to her family.

I met Susan or “Q” as Wendy, Miriam and I called her when we all worked at the Department of Justice. You wanted to be her friend immediately because she had the most beautiful smile and warm personality. I have many fond memories of going for coffee and ice cream with Q at work and the occasional Friday night after work dancing at Fred’s Uptown Tavern. Best of all, Wendy, Miriam, Q and I travelled to Calgary one Stampede and had a great time. I treasure the pictures and memories I have from that trip. I’m so glad we crossed paths in this precious lifetime. I will sleep better at night knowing Q is looking down on all of us.
A friend always,

Susan,

I remember you standing there...

blazing blues eyes staring out from under your bangs,

smiling and holding onto your cigarette so femininely

many years later we ran into each in college, you sat huddled in your chair, as we like little girls once again waited to see what "they" had to say...

I remember thinking that day, how amazing you looked, your long knock out legs fitted into your boots, your minnie skirt yelling at this world, that you are present!

You will always be present Suzie Q, in everyones hearts, memories, lives.

I love you and miss you,

Rebecca
