Susan Costa

Susan Aubrey Costa, 71, passed away on Dec.17, 2024 with her loving family by her side, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Susan was born on Feb 10,1953, in Stamford, CT. She was the daughter of the late Byron B. Aubrey and Miriam B. Aubrey of Glastonbury, CT. Susan moved to Glastonbury in 1962 at the age of nine, where she attended school and graduated from Glastonbury High School in 1971. Susan then moved to New Haven, Ct. where she attended Southern Connecticut State College and started her lengthy career in the insurance industry. She worked for Ferguson and McGuire Insurance Agency of Wallingford, CT for 25 years and moved to Wallingford during this time. While in Wallingford, Susan met the love of her life, husband Michael Costa to whom she had been married for over 33 years.

Susan and Michael shared countless adventures together, snowmobiling in Vt and fishing throughout CT, MA, VT with some special trips to Lake Ontario and Canada. They enjoyed many cruises together and special trips visiting family and friends. When Susan and Mike retired in 2010, they moved to Inman SC and then to Westminster, SC., where they presently reside.

Besides her husband, Michael, Susan leaves behind her siblings Christine Aubrey (Richard Whipple) of Northampton, MA., Blake Aubrey (Beverly) of Terryville, CT, and Beth Orlando (John) of Myrtle Beach, SC. She also leaves behind 6 nieces and 2 nephews and several grandnieces and nephews. Susan was predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Tom Costa and David Costa.

Susan was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, never forgetting a birthday or special occasion. She will be sorely missed by family as well as her many friends, especially those in Chickasaw Pt who have been instrumental with their love and support.

The family wishes to thank Prisma Health Hospice of the Foothills for their compassionate care of Susan, and Dr. Catherine Dyehouse and Dr. Theresa Lynn Howes of Prisma Health in Seneca for their supportive care over the past few years.
