Dear Susan; you were absolutely the best educator, friend and lover that has ever-or will ever bless my life. Words alone can never adequately convey the meaning your influence has given my life. The times we spent together were extraordinary. I didn't deserve you; but together, we showed eachother many great things. I am forever indebted to you for everything you shared with me during my times of personal struggles, obstacles and adversity. The fact of your passing weighs heavily on my heart. I still have our writings and hold your memories in my heart daily. You will always be an asset to all of us who were privileged to know you; especially me honey. You are forever in my heart. Thank you for everything you (and Sally) have done for me. Together, we found "Where the love is".

With Susan on a visit to Florida last December. We were being goofy as usual.

I was an academic peer advisor at USF in the late 80s. It was a successful program that Susan pioneered. We lost touch for a few years but found each other on Facebook and saw each other whenever I visited family in Florida. She often attended holiday and birthday parties with my family and was well loved. She was one of the most intelligent, funny and strong people I´ve known in my life. She will be missed.

I am so, so sorry to hear of Susan's death. I met her when we both taught history at SUNY-Plattsburgh in upstate NY. She was one of the smartest people I ever met and she had so much compassion for disadvantaged people all over the world. In the courses we taught together she emphasized critical thought, making students ask serious questions about the structure of society and what each of us could do to make things better. She had a terrific dry sense of humor which appealed to students and kept both of us laughing even when discussing serious questions. She and I not only taught together but spent many hours hiking, exploring Burlington, Vermont and partying with visitors from all over the world. She was a treasure and a dear friend; I feel privileged to have known her. R.I.P. Susan....

I never knew a better friend and have over 50 years of wonderful memories of good times, sad times and secrets. We could laugh until our tummies ached. The world was a better place with you in it, and now I have another angel looking over me. I'll miss you!!

Shocked by the news of Susan's death. We worked together at USFSP, where we discovered we had also gone to high school together. She was a great friend and colleague. She will be missed by many.

Mere words can't express the sense of loss of such a wonderful person. I have great memories of our times together.
