One night as I
lay resting,in my litte darkened room ;
my window blew wide open, it smelled like roses were in bloom.
I sat up and took notice, what was happening in front of my eyes,
The heavens suddenley parted, I saw Jesus in the skys.
He pointed his nail scarred hand at me, and said"my child it's time to go"
I told him i was too busy, I had things to do here below.
I felt his warmth around me, the room smelled like rose perfume,he said "get up my child right now ! you're going to leave this room !"
As I felt my hand intertwine with his, and I started a journey thru the sky;
I looked down upon the earth as we know it, and bid my friends and family, goodbye.

It is a honor to be a classmate of Susan. She was always so cheerful and helpful to everyone. I'm sure she received a loving greeting when she walked thru the Pearly Gate of Heaven and heard "well done, thou good and faithful servant".

To Susan's Family,
I remember Susan as a student at Fulton HS, when I was a secretary there. She was beautiful inside and out as a teenager--such a "sweetheart". How wonderful it is to know what a full and joyous life she had with her family, her work, her church, and her many friends. She left our world much too soon. I pray God's blessings on each of you as you grieve her passing.

Susan was an absolutely wonderful human being......sweet, kind, compassionate, fun, and always smiling. Even though I did not see her often, it was always a happy occasion when I did, and we would always make a long visit out of a chance meeting.
We talked by phone for several years before we ever met in person, and when I think of her, I will always remember her happy voice and upbeat greeting, "Surgery -- Ms. Gilliland!"
My sincere sympathy to the family on the loss of this wonderful person.

My dear Susan, from the time me and my kids walked into Oakwood, I can honestly say, I remember your contagious smile! I saw this smile everytime I saw you! Most of the time, you were the last person I saw as I was leaving the church! Youve always treated my kids, like they were yours. They all adored you, loved, and will miss you terribly. You were a prime example of a Christian woman and would someone your last slice of bread if they should they were hungry. Im going to miss you, our talks and you in your chair at the back of the church smiling, laughing and waving! Our beloved Angel here on earth, finally has her real wings up there! Dont go partying too much-well ok, go head and have fun! I love you Susan!!!

To the family: I am so sorry to hear about Susan's passing. We used to work at St. Mary's. Her job was to schedule surgeries and I was down the hall in Medical Transcription. Our paths would cross often in the hallway and she never met a stranger. Always laughing and cutting up. She will be missed.

To the Gilliland family,
My heart is broken to hear of the passing of Susan. She would light up a room when she entered. I remember the Ford family reunion's and you could always here someone say "here comes Susan and Jim". Everyone always loved to see you all coming to family gatherings. I know she will be greatly missed, but the beautiful memories that God allowed you all to make as a family will last a lifetime.
You will be in my prayers during this most difficult time.

Jim and family -
Susan was certainly one of God's shining lights in this world. I loved to hear her talk and tell a story. She always brought such life to everything and everyone around her. I might not haveseen your family over the recent years as often as in the past but have always stayed in touch with how things have been going. Susan will be greatly missed by all. I know the light and joy she brought to everyone around her will continue to shine. I pray that God will wrap you all in his loving arms to bring comfort and peace in the days ahead.
With Much Love,
Melinda
