Susan Goffard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 15 to Mar. 21, 2021.
Goffard, Susan
Sep 9, 1943 - Mar 11, 2021
Susan Lee Goffard, of Sarasota, Florida, loving wife and mother of two children, joined her Lord and Savior at the age of 77 on Thursday, March 11, 2021. Susan was born on September 9, 1943, and served her country as a U.S. government volunteer nurse in Laos after college graduation. It was there she met the love of her life, Luc, a civil servant, and together they lived and raised a family abroad in Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, France, and Mexico. After settling in Sarasota in 1984 to care for her ailing mother, Susan became a dedicated member of the health care and church communities here. A nurse for many years, Susan also had a passion for writing poetry, essays, and is the author of her autobiography: "Chased by God… and Stalked by Death." Susan will be remembered for her devotion to Jesus Christ, her strength, and her playful spirit. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lucien; her two daughters Eliane and Sandrine; her sisters Gayle and Bonnie; and several nieces and grandsons.

Susan was the most warm hearted and loving friend I had come to know during the time we shared together in our service to God and our church in Sarasota Florida.

She and Luc inspired my wife Jill and me through their love and dedication to one another and in there faith and commitment to Christ.

Their love and belief in God showed in their life and relationship with their daughters who themselves always demonstrate the highest respect and admiration for their parents and others.

I am so grateful to have experience the life of Susan as a friend and supporter in service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus. I do miss her so very much and rejoice in the fact that one day we will see each other again in Heaven.

We love u Luc, Eliane & Sandrine.

No one like Susan. Such a lovely and gracious lady. Everyone who meets the Goffard family is immediately taken with the immense talent and lovely Spirit in this whole family. The girls certainly are a reflection of their Mother. I LOVE ALL OF THEM! Susan was "special". Heaven is more joyful and the Earth more empty without Susan Goffard.

There are no earthly words to express the loss if a BEAUTIFUL woman such as Susan. Inside and out she demonstrated and lived the love and light of Christ!
This is also seen in her husband's, Luc, love and admiration for her. Her BEAUTIFUL Daughters are a mirror image of her own. We love this family so much! And deeply regret our lacking of visits to her in this last chapter of her life!!

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I will always remember Susan for her kindness, her humor and the many hours rehearsing and performing Easter and Christmas pageants at SBC and First Baptist Church.

So sorry for your family´s loss. I worked with her at the health department and she was a dedicated nurse.
