Susan Claire Hayhurst

Susan Claire Hayhurst, 73, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, with family at her side. She was born November 15,1952, to the late James Robert and Betty Lucille Ramsey Hayhurst. She earned her degree in Interior Design from the University of Kentucky and opened her own business, Statement Interiors.

Susan will be remembered best for the joy she found entertaining her family and friends. She loved setting her table complete with her own gorgeous flower arrangements and filling it with her freshly made gourmet foods. She shared her expertise and talents with her family and often shared her creative ideas for decor and signature dishes at special family events. She so loved her cats and enjoyed feeding the squirrels and other neighborhood animals.

Susan is survived by her siblings, Bill (Elaine) Hayhurst and Marynell (Tom) Jenkins, her nieces, Ashley Stanfield and Adrianne Hayhurst, her nephew, J.R. Jenkins, and her caring partner, Jack Cotton.

A private family gathering will be held at a future time.
