Susan Claire Jackson Henry, known to her loved ones as Susie, passed away on October 9, 2023, at the age of 81 in Lakewood, Colorado. She was born on August 16, 1942, in Texas to Grant Jackson and Marjorie Johnson Jackson. Susie was a woman of quick wit and a super sweet nature, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew her.

Susie is survived by her sister, Kathy Jackson, her sons Grant Macomber and Bryce Macomber, her stepdaughter Amanda Henry Morris, and her grandchildren Grant Macomber, Kaitlyn Macomber Lopez, Caila Macomber, Sydni Macomber Roe, Connor Macomber, and Shelby Macomber. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Paxton Fox, Freya Lopez, Grace Macomber, and Waylon Adams.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Marjorie Jackson, her sister Pat Jackson, her husband Woody Henry, and her son Kirk Macomber. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Susie graduated from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 1964 with a degree in General Business. She went on to have a successful career as a Programmer/Analyst, working for KN Energy and Hamilton Brothers Oil Company.

Susie was a member of the Billings Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, where she found solace and community.

In her free time, Susie enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid supporter of the Colorado Rockies, serving as an usher during their games. She dedicated her time to volunteering for various organizations, including the American Red Cross and Jeffco Action Center in Colorado, and Community Hope Food Pantry in Montana. Susie had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs, and she found joy in spending time with them. She also enjoyed reading and was known for her skills in beating opponents at gin rummy.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Susie at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:45 am at the Country School House.

Contributions in memory of Susie can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Red Cross, National Park Foundation, or any dog rescue organization. These organizations were dear to Susie's heart and reflect her passion for helping others.

Susie Jackson Henry will be remembered for her wit, kindness, and dedication to her family and community. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
