Susan Hunter Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 12, 2025.
Susan "Sue" Hunter, known for her adventurous spirit and kind heart, passed away on November 15, 2025, at the age of 86 in San Diego surrounded by her family. Sue was born on May 16, 1939, in Seattle, Washington, and from a young age, she embraced all that life had to offer. Sue attended Roosevelt High School and embarked on many adventures that reflected her vibrant personality.

Alongside her beloved husband Raymond Hunter, their love for exploration led them to countless adventures that brought joy and excitement into their lives. Sue's life was full of unique experiences and many memories like camping by train tracks while pregnant, fishing on the backside of Mt. St. Helens during the eruption, living on a sailboat at Lake Union, taking hot air balloon rides, and white water rafting to name a few. Sue and Ray finally settled into the cabin they built in Discovery Bay.

Throughout all the memories created, Sue's greatest joy came from her family. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters, Reagen, Rebecca, and Rachel, always showering them with love and support. Sue's sweet and caring nature never went unnoticed, as she quietly went about her days, making a difference in the lives of those around her.

Sue is survived by her siblings, Karen Goodrich, Phil Ballinger, and Mary Blaker, her daughters, Reagen Caillouette, Rebecca Szuch, and Rachel Hunter, her grandchildren, Jordan Castagna, Stephanie Szuch, Veronica Szuch, and Tristen Reynolds, as well as five great-grandchildren. In the hearts of those who knew her, Sue leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the warmth of all the lives she touched.
