TO AUNT SUE's KIDS: Well I didnt know her as well as I should but my Mom always told us so many zany stories about their travels. I envied their lust for life and could have sneaked into a suitcase for the ride. It seems like only yesterday, I was talking at great length to your mom. Nothing seemed to bother them or slow them down. They were like two peas in a pod and I sure miss them. Kelvin Holland

Dear Celeste, Joe, and Mandy,

I was so sad to learn of your Mom's death. She was a wonderful person, kind, thoughtful and funny. Our eight years of travel were some of the happiest. I shall really miss her. Please accept my condolences.

"Mommy", my heart is heavy. Everyday I say to myself what I would say to you when I called you on the phone..."How's my Mommy?" and the answer was always the same..."Your Mommy is good!". You're in Heaven now so I know your answer is still "Your Mommy is good!". You were truly one in a million, my total inspiration to be the best Mom and person I can be. My upbringing was the best a kid could have and you will live forever in the hearts and lives of your children and grandchildren.
I love you!

To Mom Kirby:
I know you will be watching down on us as we travel. You will always be tucked away in our luggage and our hearts. By the way, if you could make it rain while we are gone, that would be appreciated. You always took good care of our house and loved my flower gardens.
You will be missed.

Gradma's Lullaby
Oh, mother how pretty the moon looks tonight,
It was never so stunning before;
Its two little horns are so sharp and so bright,
I hope they won't grow any more!
If I were up there with you and my friends,
We could rock in it, can't you just see?
We would sit in the middle, holding tight to the ends,
Oh, what a bright cradle 'twould be.

We'd call to the stars to keep out of our way,
Just in case we rocked over their toes;
And there we would sit 'til the dawn of the day,
To see where the pretty moon goes.
We'd travel around the beautiful skies,
Or perhaps through the fluffy clouds roam;
We could see the sun set, and we could see the sun rise,
And on the next rainbow sail home,
And on the next rainbow sail home.

How do you go on... when those you love don't?
How do you continue when the loved ones cease to be?
How do I live on.. with out you here with me?

You are truly missed Grandma.... Everything.. the way you talked to us and said "buh Bye now" on the phone or called me "little one". Those are memories I will treasure forever. I love you

Celeste, Becky, and Dusty,

I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was so very, very kind. I know how much you will miss her. Be gentle with yourselves as she would be with you. Go slow. I know you find solace knowing that she is with God and will be watching over you.

Sincerely, Jan

Mandy, Kristin, Lindsay,

Sorry your Grandma Sue died, and so suddenly too. It is clear how much she cared for you, and I am glad your faith and family are strong enough to carry you during this time. Be gentle with yourselves, cautious like if you had a wound. And know you are loved and thought of often.

Peace, Aunt Jan

I love you too Joe. God Bless.

Dear family,

What a profound loss...as you all experienced her love and caring so did we...always felt such cheer when receiving a card from her with her trademark closing, "with love and admiration" further testimony to her kind and nurturing spirit.

It is a comfort to know that a little of that spirit will always
"travel" with us,

Linda, Richard, Richard Carr and Kevin Gawthrop

Grandma - I was your "little one" just like Lindsay and mom. Your travels inspired me to live in Africa when I was 20 and seek a career in International Development. You cared so much for Liz and I - how we were doing, what we were up to etc and were so proud of both of us for staying in school and staying focused on our careers. You will always watch over us - I can even feel your prescence now. We love you so very much and you are truly, deeply missed.

Celeste, Becky, other family members,
Your mom was so sweet and caring for everyone.....she was a great nurse. I only worked with her a short time but the patients loved her. We all loved her. She was always interested in how people were and never complained about herself. It was always how others were doing! She was not selfish ever! She was so fun to be around. We will miss her at family functions on the lake with her cute little visor on her head! :) She will always be in our thoughts. Your family is very fortunate to have had such a wonderful mother, grandmother, etc...Her memories will be kept alive in our hearts! Godspeed Grandma Sue!
Much Love

Celeste and Joe,
Please know that our prayers are with you during this time of greiving. Yet we do not greive as those who have no hope. It is a great blessing to know we can trust our loved ones to a loving Savior, in whom they placed their trust.
Your mom had a great life on earth and now truely understands what real abundant life is all about. Our prayers are with you who have this hole in your heart that has been left empty.

Blessings,

Dave and Crissie

Mom, You were the absolute best mother I could possibly have, always so kind and considerate. I remember, while growing up, how you used to encourage and challenge me in everything I did. You would often say that God put us here to help others. I believe that. Your Christian faith was strong, which is the blessed assurance that I will see you again soon. Jesus said that I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME. Praise the Lord you have received your just reward of life eternal with the Father. I'll always love you, Clayton

Dear Celeste and Joe, We are remembering you during this time of passage for your mother. God's grace is always sufficient and especially at this time, when memory comes alive,--of your mother's love and faith and active involvements in those ministries God gave to her in this life. And now He says, "Well done, very well done indeed, my servant. Enter into My joy for you. As you made earth a happier place, so will you make heaven!"

In loving sympathy,

Pastor and Mrs. Jack Chapin

Grandma Sue,
You probably never realized how much of an inspiration you were to me, but you truly were. I will always cherish your travel stories and I strive to have as many as you had. You were always so interested in what was going on in my life and that was such a valuable characteristic of your personality. I am so lucky to have had a grandmother like you. You will forever be missed. Keep us safe.
Bye bye now.
Love always, Lindsay, your little one
