Susan Klingaman Obituary

Susan Marley Klingaman, 75, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at her home, Kendal at Oberlin.
Formerly of Arlington, Va., she was born Oct. 2, 1937, to Wilhelmina (Billy) and Murray Klingaman in Albany, N.Y.
She grew up in Delmar, N.Y., and later attended Oberlin College. She attended graduate school at the University of Mainz in Germany on a Fulbright grant, and later graduated from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy on a Woodrow Wilson grant.
In 1963, she joined the U.S. Foreign Service and served in posts in Germany, Denmark, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Later, she served on consultant assignments throughout Europe, Mexico, West Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. She retired from government service in 1987 and took up residence in Arlington, Va.
She earned another graduate degree in linguistics from George Mason University and taught English to immigrants, refugees, and international students.
Miss Klingaman was recently pre-deceased by her sister, Katharine Klingaman Erickson. Her brother Richard, and her nieces and nephews survive her.
Her internment will take place at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Delmar, N.Y.

I have many happy childhood memories growing up with Sue in Delmar. I last saw her at the BCHS 50th reunion. I'm sorry for your loss and send my best wishes.
