I met Susan when she was the Dean of Springfield college in Manchester. She was such an amazing and authentic person, who did everything possible to guide me through a mid-life decision to acquire a clinical master's degree in the shortest time . Her patience, humor, authenticity and friendship helped me navigate college, internship, f/t job, college and a growing family. She thought outside the box to make things work for all of us. I have never forgotten Susan and I offer my condolences and peace for her loved ones. She was amazing.

Susan was the Dean at Springfield when I dared attend college with poor English skills. She was such an inspiration and she believe in me more than I did. She is one of a few female mentors that lifted me up so I can pay back. I was honored to meet!!

I consider it a gift of my lifetime to have been assigned to Room 309 in Jesse Doe Hall with Susan, "Suzz" to me. She was an interested listener, fair and objective advisor, and trusted confidant. If I had a less than stellar day, out came her guitar and together we would belt out the entire score from The Sound of Music. She was generous beyond words with her time, her knowledge and her desire to lift up those she loved. She was a cheerleader for those who were marginalized and adept at highlighting the goodness in everyone. Humility was just one of her many hallmarks. Her goodness knew no boundaries.
Anyone fortunate to have called Susan friend is rich beyond measure, simply to have been touched by such goodness...
To say she will be missed cannot be overstated. I pray she has comfort and peace and knows the love of so many who will always long to hear her laugh once more.

A student athlete at Elms college in the era when we used to manually line soccer , field hockey field with chalk or spray paint. My lines were particularly squiggly this day and I was clearly having a bad day and Sue came up put her hand on my shoulder and gently smiled and said "Don't' t the turkeys get you down" that was 35 years ago and I still think of how wise and prophetic it was her timing and delivery... I will never forget that kind humble woman!!!

So sorry for your loss. I will always treasure the impact Susan made in supporting my personal, professional, and educational development because she modeled empathy, and patience in a nonjudgmental learning environment.
