On Tuesday October 10, 2023, Susan K. Mitchell peacefully went home to be with the Lord. She was 77.
Susan was born on April 25, 1946 in Wilmington, DE and was raised by the late Robert and Sara Kirby.
She graduated Milford High School in 1964, and attended James Madisen University and Del Tech where she received her Nursing Degree.
Mrs. Mitchell worked as a Supervisor at DuPont and as a Detox Nurse at Ellendale Detox.
She was an active member of Cokesbury Worship Center.
Susan enjoyed crossword puzzles, surf fishing, playing softball and basketball, and watching the Redskins, women’s basketball, and baseball.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her sons, Michael Mitchell and his wife Jane, and Mark Mitchell and his wife Tammy, and her grandchildren, Matthew and Mason Mitchell, Erica Isaacs, Andrew and Michael Hart, Jonathan Horstman, Markie Melson, her sisters Barbara Durhan, Babbethe Johnston, and Marlen Gregson, her brothers, Robert and Arthur Johnston, her nieces, Laura Wigler, Denise Madson, and Rose Johnston, and her nephew, Arthur Johnston.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Kirby, Jr.
The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home on Friday 10/20 from 10AM to 11AM, with a funeral service at 11AM.
Interment in Milford Community Cemetery – Old Section.
