Susan Monaghan, age 62, passed away Thursday, November 12 after a long hard battle with cancer. Susan was born in Iowa May 8, 1960 to Ron and Sherrill Neve. Susan was moved to the Austin area with her family as a young child and graduated from Crockett High School in 1978. Her first adult job was at age 18 as a secretary with Texas State Teachers Association. That is where she met her life-long best friend Cathy Conn. After a few years with TSTA she moved to administrative positions within Southwestern Bell for 20+ years and then went on to the Department of Public Safety for 18+ years where she retired this past April in the Finger Printing Division. Susan was well known for her kindness to others, always knowing the right thing to say at the right time and her incredible wit and sense of humor. She is the richest of women with the number of people that consider her a close friend.

Susan is predeceased by her brother Clay Neve, her father, her mother Sherrill (Cavett) Neve and her beloved Uncle Terry Cavett. She leaves behind to celebrate her life and memory her loving friend of 45 years Cathy Conn, her Aunt Carol Cavett, several Iowa cousins and dozens upon dozens of close friends. She was a light we will all dearly miss.
