Susan Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 17, 2025.
Susan S. Moore, formally of South Hamilton, MA., passed away on July 9th, 2025, at The Grace House in Windham, NH. She was a devoted and loving wife to Ramsay M. Moore, a loving mother to the late Diana J. Moore, James W. Moore of Reading, MA, Katharine M. Geskos of Amherst, NH, and her son-in-law, the late Nicholas G. Geskos. She was also the adoring and fun grandmother to Isabella E. Geskos.

Susan was born in Boston, MA on November 14th, 1931 to James and Eleanor St. Clair. She was "Suze" to her husband and mother, Susie to her mother-in-law, Sue or Susan to her friends, and Mom to her children. She graduated from Colby Sawyer College and later the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston, MA. In 1952 she met Ramsay, the love of her life.

They married in 1953 and shared 63 years filled with love and laughter together. After brief residences in California and Maine, they settled in Hamilton, MA where they raised their 3 children and called it "home" for 51 years. Susan volunteered and supported multiple local organizations over the years.

Her interest in children with learning disabilities is what led her to her more than 30-year career at the Landmark School North Campus in Manchester by the Sea, MA.

In her retirement, Susan enjoyed walks on local trails with friends and Ripley, her much loved dog. She loved gardening, needlepoint, and knitting and gifted many beautiful handknit sweaters to family members over the years. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. She loved decorating the house with Christmas music playing in the background and gathering the family to set off in search of the "perfect" Christmas tree at the local tree farm. Her joy was having all the family together. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.

There will be a private burial service at the Hamilton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundations at https://www.alz.org.
