I grew up in New Albany and moved to the Mid-Atlantic in the early 1980s after I graduated from college. When I would come home to visit my folks I went searching for a Mid-Century shop and was ecstatic to find Susan who owned "The Deal". For quite a few years I would just stop by to look around AND have fun banter with Susan. I even took locals to see her shop. So my trips "home" ALWAYS included a visit to see Susan. I enjoyed her wit, humor and her ability to find unusual mid-century items for her store. After awhile, my trips home became infrequent due to the loss of my parents so a bit of time passed before I knew Susan was gone. Though she had shared her history with cancer, I always hoped she would prevail. What a lovely fun person and I dearly miss my visits with her. My late condolences to her family all who loved her. She was a wonderful strong character I will never forget.

I will miss Susan's wry sense of humor and warmth. She was alway thoughtful and honest. I was privileged to know her since childhood and whenever we ran into each other over the years, at her store or at Highland Baptist, she seemed like family. Sending love to her family and know my thoughts are with you during this time even though I am out of town.

Dear Ones of Susan,
I remember Susan at the Home where she blessed us all with her optimistic spirit and sense of humor. Thank you for sharing Susan with us. May you be consoled and may Susan rest in peace.
With prayer,
