Susan H. Paules

Susan H. Paules died on March 14, 2014 at Broad Creek Care Center in Hilton Head Island, SC. She lived in Westfield, NJ for 27 years before moving to Moss Creek in 1994 and then to Tide Pointe in 2012. She had been a resident of the Hilton Head area for approximately 20 years. She was born on October 13, 1937 in Baltimore, MD to Anne F. and Dr. John T. Howard. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charlie; a sister, Karen F. Hamer of Newville, PA; and two nieces, Anne F. Carter of West River, MD and Roberta K. Hamer of Lebanon, PA. She had a career in high fashion sales and management with Saks Fifth Avenue. She had an interest in dogs which led her to the show ring where she held both U.S. and Bermuda championships for her West Highland White Terriers. She was Secretary of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Northern New Jersey and was a member of the board of the Hilton Head Island Kennel Club where she held the publicity chair and hospitality chair for the Annual Dog Show. She was active with the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission (JARM) and Hospice Care of the Lowcountry. A private memorial service will be held.
