Susan Harnly Peterson

I met Susan very briefly in Canberra, Australia in the 80's at a ceramics conference. Even though we only had a brief conversation, I remember her very clearly, her liveliness, her wide-ranging openness, her passion for all things clay. I'm very sorry to hear of her passing. My condolences to her family.

Susan Peterson was my teacher at u.s.c. in 1957. She helped me in many ways throughout my life. She was a great and good friend and I will miss her. Her generosity of of spirit was great. She had great parties that united the clay world at her home in Pasadena, California. I loved her.

Susan was my teacher first and then became a close friend of my whole family. Our thoughts are with you all.
