Susan M. Tully, 57, of Austin, beloved daughter of Dolores (Dee) Tully and the late Joseph A. Tully, died Wednesday, June 24th after a brief illness. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph A. Tully Jr., of Chicago; sister, Ann Marie Tully Rutkoski and husband, Richard B. Rutkoski of Pennsylvania; and her much loved cat, Amy. Prior to her retirement in 2013, Susan was Administrative Director of the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC). Previous positions included Director of Trade and Intl Relations at the Texas Department of Economic Development (TDED); working for the City of Austin on finance and budgeting; and the Bureau of Business Research at UT-Austin. Throughout her career she was recognized for her honesty and integrity. Susan held an M.S. in Economics from Texas A&M University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Dallas. Susan was an incredibly empathetic person who was always there to provide a kind word or encouragement despite her own burdens. She touched the lives of more people than she could possibly comprehend.

I am very sad to learn that Susan passed away last June. She was a friend when we worked at the UT Bureau of Business Research and I thought of her today because she was a big fan of Prince, who just died yesterday. I googled her to see if I could send her a message and found her obituary. Good bye Susan. We had a good time for a while, didn't we?

So sorry to hear the news. My condolences to all the family. The last time I saw Susan and Joseph was in Dallas about 1980. I was looking forward to seeing her at the reunion on 8/22. I am sure she was excited to go to, although I am not sure how she was doing healthwise. Leon Tylenda Mid Valley Class of 1975

Susan was a lovely, wonderful person with a great mind and a great sense of humor. She was a hard working and very giving person. Her contribution to Texas was huge.

Dear Mrs.Tully, Ann Marie and Joe, I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your dear daughter and sister Susan. I only got to know her briefly from the trip and Ann Marie's wedding but she seemed to be a very loving caring person. In the arms of the angels and our Lord may she may she find eternal love and peace.

I was saddened to read of Susan's passing. I had not had any contact with her in well over 15 years ,but when I worked for the Texas Employment Commission we had many dealings regarding labor force data. She was a very good and pleasant person. My sincere condolences to her family.

I knew Susan as both a work colleague and a personal friend. One Friday night after a tough work week sh said "we should go to Vegas" so she put it it together and we had a great time with drinks at the Bellagio and
Lots of points to redeem. We also cruised together with her mom and dad to Europe where her Dad shared his passion of chilled fruit soups. Susan, thanks for the good times and may you and your family my find solace in the loving arms of our Lord.
