SUSAN WATSON Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 15, 2023.
SUSAN "SUSIE" JANE (NULL) WATSON, 84, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023. Born Dec. 25, 1938, in Detroit, Mich., she was a daughter of Cecil W. and Helen (Cornelius) Null. Susie worked as a bookkeeper for the first season of her life while raising three children. After her children were grown, Susie eyed a second season of life and a new career. She earned her degree as a registered nurse and worked as a labor and delivery charge nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne. She dedicated herself to the service of expectant moms for three decades before retiring in 2013. She served with grace, reverence, and humility as a lector and eucharistic minister at Most Precious Blood Catholic Parish in Fort Wayne. Susie was an accomplished artist, chaotic gardener, and breast cancer survivor. She loved "her birds" and found solace in nature. For those family and friends who received her generous love, for those thousands of families that she served during the highs and lows of childbirth, just know that you were witness to a rare spirit of selfless, infinite, gentle kindness. Susie is survived by her sister, Sally A. (Null) Schnitz; children, Patricia K. (Campbell) Reszel, Michael C. Campbell and Kimberly A. (Campbell) Miser; nieces, Susan (Blackburn) Kingsley and Becky (Schnitz) Fredd; and grandchildren, Cameron A. Miser, Casey J. Miser, Scott A. Reszel, Faith C. Miser, Nichole (Groh) Cartwright, and Amy Groh. Susie will reset in peaceful eternity with her beloved Auntie Lee and her daddy. The family will celebrate her quiet, yet extraordinary life at a private memorial service encircled by the woods she loved so much. To support animals in need of homes (of which she gave to many), consider a memorial in her name to Humane Fort Wayne.

Susie was a lovely person who was a dear friend to our family. We both shared a passion for working in labor & delivery with new mothers and their precious babies. - Anita (Hoffman) Fraley

There were also shared meals with lots of laughter and many miles through church bus trips. - Michael Fraley
