Susanne Britt

Susanne Britt, 72, left us for her next great adventure the morning of Thanksgiving, November 24, 2022. A life-long Portsmouth resident, Susanne graduated from Wilson High School in 1968. She started as an operator with C & P Telephone and worked there through two name changes, ending her career 35 years later as a Central Office Technician with Verizon. She was an active member of her union, CWA, the local Democratic committee, and the local chapter of the National Organization for Women.

Susanne loved to travel. She went on several adventurous cruises with her friend Gene Wadford, including through the Panama Canal. She loved seeing new places and visiting friends and family far and wide. Her greatest joys were spending time with friends, trying out new restaurants, and tending to her beautiful garden.

Susanne is predeceased by her parents, Patricia and Richard Britt of Portsmouth. She is also predeceased by her dear friend Gene Wadford, next to whom her ashes will be interred at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marion and David Lepzelter, and her friend Carol Summerlyn, her confidant of over 40 years. She will be missed.
