Susanne Hammond Obituary
Sue was born on May 28, 1929 in Scranton, PA the daughter of Alfred and Claire Oliver.
She married Lieutenant John B. Hammond in Kyoto, Japan in 1951. Sue and John welcomed four sons into their home as an Army family moving worldwide.
Her children remember her as a wonderful mother. Sue was accomplished at gardening and crafting hooked rugs. She was a gracious individual who loved opera and her friends and family.
She is predeceased by COL John B. Hammond, her husband of 58 years and son, James Matthew Hammond. Sue is survived by sons, LTC John B. Hammond, Jr. (Rosemary) of Oakland, MD, LTC Charles O. Hammond (Patricia) of Lansing, KS and Daniel J. Hammond of Nottingham, NH; a daughter-in-law, Elisa Hammond of West Bend, WI; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A service will be held at a later date.
