Susie L. Montgomery

Susie Cathaleen Lucas Montgomery, age 103 and seven months, passed away May 30, 2020, at The Greens at Pinehurst in Pinehurst, North Carolina. She was born October 28, 1916 in Moffatts Creek, Virginia, to the late Clay and Emma Lucas and was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Montgomery, Sr., seven siblings, and two grandchildren, Brandon Brinkman and Mark Goss. Susie was the last surviving sibling of eight. She is survived by her four children, George R. Montgomery, Jr. (Donna), William H. Montgomery (Paula), John B. Montgomery (Darlene), and Sara Ann Carter (Harry), eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Susie lived most of her life in Cecil County, Maryland and later spent retirement years in N. Ft. Myers, Florida. Since January 2018, she has lived in Pinehurst, North Carolina. She was a faithful, active member of Janes United Methodist Church in Rising Sun, Maryland. She was employed by the Cecil County Building Inspectors Office in Elkton, Maryland for many years. Interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, Maryland. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to "Janes United Methodist Church" and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
