My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you all in this time of great sadness and loss. I feel truly blessed to have been part of Suzanne's journey, she was a special angel, with such strength and courage. The world truly was a better place because of Suzanne. I am so sorry to learn of Suzanne's passing and my heartfelt condolences go out to everyone in her family. Suzanne took two undergraduate sociology classes with me, the first in 2010 while she was still majoring in Biology and the second in 2013. In both classes she achieved a grade of "A" and was among the top students. I could always count on Suzanne to have read any assigned readings and to have actually worked to understand the arguments in those readings. She was a joy to teach.

My deepest condolences for your loss. I was blessed to have had Suzanne in several of my classes at the U of C and her acumen and passion were inspiring. I am sorry that I only learned of her passing today. Suzanne was special.

I am deeply saddened and devastated about the passing of Suzanne. I remember meeting her in elementary school during a field trip outing, and remember her smile and infectious laughter. Me and my family are sending our condolences and prayers to the entire Kanuka family.

Dear family of Ms. Kanuka,

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I was fortunate enough to take a graduate class with your daughter on race and ethnicity. At the time I was not a graduate student, and was somewhat unsure of whether I wanted to pursue graduate school or not. Suzanne in particular made me feel so so so so welcome in the course. I will never ever forget some of her thought provoking comments towards issues that are so critical to our identities.

Suzanne, you are truly missed. Thank you dearly for helping me feel accepted.
