Suzanne Steigmeyer, 84, passed away September 15, 2016. She was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on September 25, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Forrest and Doris Voorhees. Suzanne had a love for art and painting. Suzanne was also a member of the Christ Child Society. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1949, she went on to attend college in Terre Haute at St. Mary of the Woods and graduated in 1953. After graduating, she went on to be a teacher and taught at various schools. She married the love of her life, David Steigmeyer, on Thanksgiving of 1957 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Ft. Wayne, IN. Surviving are her children; Therese (Bryson) Braasch, Dr. James (Elizabeth) Steigmeyer, Dr. Martha (Rick) Dwenger, Robert (Patty) Steigmeyer, Thomas (Colette) Steigmeyer, and Elizabeth (Jason) Kuckkan; grandchildren; Amelie (Darren) Moga, Bryan Braasch, August Steigmeyer, Joseph Steigmeyer , Hannah Steigmeyer, Erich (Anna) Dwenger Mitchell Dwenger, Emma Dwenger, Sam Dwenger, Alena Dwenger, Norah Dwenger , Nick Steigmeyer , Nate Steigmeyer , Laura Steigmeyer , Will Steigmeyer , Benjamin Kuckkan, Anna Kuckkan, Ethan Kuckkan; and great- grandchildren, Dominic Moga , Isaac Moga, Alexander Moga. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dr. David Steigmeyer; and brother, Dr. Robert Voorhees. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 23, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 4916 Trier Rd. Ft. Wayne, IN 46815 at 10:30 AM with calling 1 hour prior. Visitation will take place Thursday, September 22, 2016 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Chapel, 4017 Maplecrest Rd. Ft. Wayne, IN 46815 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Entombment to take place in Catholic Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Child Society, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
