Suzanne Alice Turner (aka Sue) passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the age of 70 years in Vallejo, Ca. Sue was born in Alameda County, Ca. on February 12, 1946 to Wilma Anna Menke and William Raymond Welden, both of whom preceded her in death. Suzanne attended and graduated from El Cerrito High School where she participated in the marching band from the time she was in the fourth grade until high school graduation. Sue was also the uniform manager for the El Cerrito High marching band. Sue attended Contra Costa College and San Francisco University where she earned her Master's in Computer Science. While attending Contra Costa College, she met Darrell Eugene Turner; they were married on June 8, 1968. Sue was devoted for over 20 years at Peres Elementary School, where she touched and guided many young lives. She leaves behind a loving husband Darrell Turner, two sons David Turner of Richmond, Stephen Turner and daughter-in-law Natalie of Pinole, five grandchildren: Adonis, Julian, Alana, Eris and Mia. She also leaves behind a loving sister Diane Houseken, nephews Chris and George Houseken, great-nephews Niqlus and Christian Houseken, two sister-in-laws' Winnie Baed and Elaine Redwine as well as countless friends, both professionally and personally. A memorial service will be held on November 15th at 4pm at the Sunset View Cemetery, Colusa & Fairmount Ave., El Cerrito.
