Sybil Hayes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 23 to Oct. 25, 2023.
Watkinsville - Sybil Morrow Hayes, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 22, 2023 after an extended illness. She was surrounded by her family and her fur-baby girl, Missy.

She was born on October 10, 1937 to Frank and Lily Irene Tanksley Morrow. When Sybil was just 10 years old, her mother passed away and she tragically lost her father in 1968. She was a loving sister to her siblings, Jimmy Morrow and Shirley Morrow McAllister who both preceded her in death.

Sybil married Charlie Hayes, in 1956 and they welcomed their daughter, Rita, into their lives a couple of years later. They made Watkinsville their home and after 32 years of marriage, Charlie passed away.

Sybil loved to laugh, sing, dance, shop, and cheer on the Georgia Bulldawgs. She loved her long-term companion of 24 years, Dewitte Bramlett, and they made many great memories together. Sybil loved her family, and all of her friends.

In addition to her daughter Rita, she leaves behind a lot of people that loved her including her son-in-law, Jeff Hutchins, his children: Brandon (Jill) Hutchins, Summer (Clark) Schwartz and Shelbi (Tanner) Dillingham, seven grandchildren, Dewitte Bramlett and her fur-baby that she adored. Sybil also had many nieces and nephews that deeply cherished her, as she cherished them also.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 25, at 11:00 a.m., at Evergreen Memorial Park.

A special thank you to Missy Seagraves, her great-niece, that helped take wonderful care of her during her illness. Also, thank you to St. Mary's Hospice.
