Sylvia Arambula, age 62, beloved wife, mother, grandma, aunt, sister, and dear friend to all, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at her home in Las Vegas. She took her last breath in her husband Fernando's arms while surrounded by her loving family.
Sylvia was the oldest of 5 children. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where she met and later married Fernando Arambula on February 5, 1972. They had 3 children, 2 girls and a boy, the youngest she at first thought was a bladder infection. In 1990, they moved to Las Vegas.
Sylvia loved playing baseball, and played on a few different teams. She was the team mom and scorekeeper for her children's baseball teams. She was also the car club mom. She always threw the best baby showers. Those who knew her, know that she had a big, giving heart and she loved giving nicknames to everyone that she liked. Sylvia worked for Centell/Sprint for over 10 years as a 411 operator and she won the "Voice With A Smile" award.
Sylvia is survived by her husband of 45 years, Fernando Arambula, their daughters, Linda and Jeanette, and their son Fernando, their 6 grandchildren, her mother Celsa, and her 3 siblings. She will be dearly missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 South Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146, on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 4:00pm. A celebration of her life will follow the service at her home.

Sylvia, I remember meeting you when I was only 16, making me laugh and Feel right at home, welcoming me into ur family. When all seemed lost to me, you were there to talk to me and give me advice, which would make me feel whole again. Thru thick and then you were always there, I'm blessed to have you in my life, and I'm blessed that my lil girls Jasmine and Angelica were able to share you that time to, but most of all I'm blessed to be able to call you Mom.. I will miss u so much, but I will also know u will be watching all of us from above. I'm sorry I can't be there today, but I will always have u in my heart.

The day I met Sylvia, I met a new mom. She welcomed me with open arms, and loved on me like I had always been family. She immediately stole my daughter who was only a few months old and hugged me with excitement over the pregnancy announcement of my son. She showed me tricks for gender predicting (the only one correct in guessing jimmy was a boy) and taught me to cook enchiladas and sneak onions into them. Sylvia had a huge personality and an even bigger heart. She was the first to throw a party and go out of her way for everyone and the first to slap you around if you needed it. (All hail her mighty slipper haha) Years later I love that she's still grandma Sylvia to all the Kids and that my kids still loved to hug her and see her on weekends. I love that she didn't lose her spunk and that she never changed from the time I met her until the time she left us. We've lost someone so amazing and wonderful, no one will ever compare to her. I'm sending all my love to her family. Nothing will make the loss of her better but know that her life has impacted so many people on so many levels. Her memory is forever engraved in so many people's lives.

Jackie, Fernie and Family:
I was so sorry to hear about what happened to Sylvia. She was always good to me and made me feel at home. I am sorry I can't attend the service. I have to work or I would be there, but I want you to know I am thinking about all of you. God Bless all of you and I am just happy she is no longer in any more pain. Love you Sylvia and I will never forget your kindness or you.

I had the pleasure of meeting and becoming very good friends with Sylvia @ Centel. She was guardian angel... She gave me the nickname of "Little Witchlette". There was a day when Sylvia invited all of ladies to her home and taught us how to make homemade Tamales and let us take them home to share with our families. I will never forget her. Since her passing, she has came to my quite a few times in my dreams. I know that she is in Heaven. I will always love you my friend, Until we see each other again.
