Sylvia "Sib" Blevins DAMASCUS, Va. Sylvia "Sib" Blevins, age 84, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Damascus and was the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Blackburn. She retired from First Virginia Bank in Damascus and was a member of the First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ace D. Blevins; five brothers ;and one sister. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the graveside at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus with Rev. David Griffin officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Penny F. Garrett Sarcoma Foundation, 29394 Zion Church Road, Damascus, VA 24236. Friends may call at anytime on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m . at Garrett Funeral Home to sign a guest register for Mrs. Blevins.
