Eugenio Veltri

1929 - 2014

Eugenio Veltri, 85, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at his home.

Eugenio was born to Vincenzo and Vincencina (Trotta) Veltri in Piretto Prov. Cosenza, Italy, on Jan. 6, 1929. Eugenio attended local schools in Italy and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1947. He attended school and ran his own business in Argentina.

Eugenio married the former Marina Bombino on March 14, 1954, and they moved their family to Kenosha in 1972.

Eugenio loved family get-togethers, and was most proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He was an avid gardener and would spend hours tending to his tomato plants.

He retired in 1996 from the J.I. Case Co. after 23 years of service. Eugenio was a member of the J.I. Case Retirees and St. Mary Catholic Church.

Eugenio is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marina; his children, Francisca Rosana (Thomas) Peters of Kenosha, and Eugenio F. (Lisa) Veltri of Lockport, Ill.; and his adoring grandchildren, Ryan, Melissa, and Kyle Peters, and Christina and Andrea Veltri. He is also survived by his brothers, Antonio, Franco and Salvatore; sister, Pascualina; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Aurora (Enzo) Tocci; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Francesco and Juan; and sisters, Maria and Ana.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lennie Montemurro and staff, Frank Bisciglia and Theresa Herr for their kindness to Eugenio and his family.

Visitation for Eugenio will take place on Sunday, Oct. 26, at Proko Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7307-40th Avenue, Kenosha, WI, on Monday, October 27th, at 10 a.m. Entombment will take place at All Saints Mausoleum following the Mass.
