Sylvia June Bright, 79, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born March 26, 1936, in Welch, WV, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Pierce Cooper and the late Ruth Elzo Williams Cooper.

Sylvia was a retired nurse's assistant and a member of Living Water Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Franklin York.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Deborah Bright-Brown and her husband Patrick David of Winter Garden, FL; one son, Donald Frederick York of Roanoke; two grandsons, Robert Bright and his friend Stephanie Figgett of Harrisonburg and Christopher York and his wife Brianna of Roanoke; five great grandchildren, Rebecca Bright, Daniel Bright, Malaki York, Laz York and Gabriel York; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Pastor Daryl Donald officiating. Entombment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

Debbie & Donnie, I just heard about your mothers death. She was really special to me. I have not seen her in about 2 years because I don't walk well now, but she was always in my thoughts. I know we all will miss her.
